William Chase grew up in Herefordshire, England, and farmed potatoes for two decades before creating Tyrrells Crisps and then embarking on an ambitious project to make his own vodka. His first batch of potato vodka flowed from the stills in June 2008, and since then, it has gained both respect and awards alike.
After wowing vodka fans with its award-winning potato vodka, Chase has gone on to launch a number of flavoured vodkas made with real fruit. Chase Marmalade Vodka uses Seville oranges and Valencian orange peel; Chase Rhubarb uses rhubarb from Herefordshire; and Naked Chase Vodka uses English cider apples.
It is a little known fact that gin is made from vodka, and so to highlight this point, rather than simply redistilling a neutral grain spirit, William Chase have created this single botanical gin (or juniper vodka?) from their award winning potato based spirit. Labelled on one side of the bottle with "Limited Edition Chase Juniper Vodka", while the other side reads "Williams Single Botanical Gin", which camp are you in?
Much like the Williams GB Gin, the single botanical has Chase vodka spirit as the base, but is infused solely with juniper and created in very small batches of only 1000 bottles.
Clean and fresh aromas of leathery eucalyptus with delicate piney spice. The palate is clean with eucalyptus, lavender, camphor, pine and faint overripe banana garnished with mild black pepper. Earthy tones of juniper leave a clean peppery aftertaste.
