Bodegas Mano a Mano is located in Tierra de Castilla, near Alhambra (Ciudad Real). The spectacular new winery is surrounded by 300 hectares of old Tempranillo vines, here also known as Cencibel. The grapes mature rapidly, producing medium sized, compact and uniform bunches with thick skins, the only distinction if any between Cencibel Mancha and Tempranillo is perhaps their drought tolerance, allowing production of robust red wines with intense colour. Winemaker Ascunción Yébenes here and at Pago Venta la Ossa is truly working some magic from these old, goblet trained vineyards.
La Mancha's Mano a Mano winery is impressively surrounded by 300 hectares of old Tempranillo (locally known as Cencibel) vines at an altitude of 660m above sea level. The deep, sandy soils produce incredibly low yields here - just 1-2kg per vine.
Black cherry and lightly herbal aromas. Pure black fruit on the palate with savoury notes and ripe tannins. Well-structured with fresh balancing acidity on the finish.
