Evan Williams is a bourbon brand made by the Heaven Hill company, the US's second largest holder of aged stocks of bourbon whiskey. The brand was created to honour the eponymous Mr. Williams, whom they credit as being the first commercial distiller in Kentucky, setting up his distillery in 1783 on the banks of the Ohio river.
Founded shortly after the repeal of Prohibition in 1933, Heaven Hill has since become the largest independent, family-owned producer and marketer of distilled spirits in the United States.
Heaven Hill‘s success is due to a mix of good business acumen, continuity, heritage and uncompromising craftsmanship. The company is still owned by descendants of the founding Shapira brothers and six generations of the famous Beam family have overseen the distillation.
Located in Bardstown, Kentucky, Heaven Hill is the world’s second largest holder of Bourbon whiskey with over 1,000,000 charred white oak barrels ageing in 49 open-rick warehouses. Double-distillation takes place at the modern Bernheim facility where Craig and Parker Beam produce rye and wheat influenced Bourbons as well as straight rye, corn and wheat whiskies, using their own family yeast strain—now also in its sixth generation .
Heaven Hill offers the most complete range of US whiskies. From Bourbons with a rye influence such as Evan Williams and Elijah Craig to those with more than a touch of wheat under the Old Fitzgerald name. From rye whiskies such as Rittenhouse, to corn or wheat whiskies such as the Bernheim Original. A masterpiece in every category.
This 70 Proof, golden-amber flavoured Bourbon combines the smoothness of Evan Williams Straight Kentucky Bourbon with the sweetness of natural honey flavour. But more importantly, it tastes seriously good.
Soft, citrus honey aromas with Bourbon behind. Sweet honey and allspice on the palate with vanilla & a hint of smoke. Bourbon is evident with long, slightly spicey finish.
