Allow us to introduce Mexico's bestselling tequila… El Jimador Reposado is aged for 2 months in White Oak barrels before bottling. It is stunningly smooth with notes of cooked agave, vanilla and caramel sweetness. The producers recommend it with grapefruit soda, lime juice and a hint of salt in a highball glass, something called an "Authentic Paloma".

Tequila Herradura was founded in Jalisco by Félix López in 1870 and still produces 100% agave Tequilas in the same traditional manner as when it began. Since its acquisition by Brown-Forman in 2007 (now part of Bacardi), the brand has finally gained the international recognition it deserves.


El Jimador was created in 1994 to pay tribute to Casa Herradura's expert 'Jimadors', the harvesters of the agave plant, whose job requires the great skill of identifying when the agave is ready.

El Jimador tequilas are produced and estate bottled in the heart of Mexico's tequila region, using locally grown, high quality 100% blue agave. Production of el Jimador tequilas begin in the agave fields where the Blue Weber agave plant grows. After harvest, the agave is cooked inside traditional, decades old ovens made of brick and stone for 24 hours then subsequently cooled before being crushed to extract the sweet juices.

Fermentation takes place in open-air tanks where natural, air-borne yeasts from agave plants and citrus trees located on the hacienda are abundant. Following fermentation the juice is distilled two separate times in pot stills and bottled immediately. It takes years to make it as a Jimador. They’re the master harvesters that give their all in the pursuit of the art of gathering the Weber blue agave that goes into tequila. Heart and soul, that’s what it takes to get the name–and it wasn’t earned easily.


El Jimador Reposado begins with 100% hand-harvested blue Weber agave, naturally fermented and double distilled. Then it enjoys a two-month siesta in our own handmade American oak barrels until the perfect moment. The results are worth the wait: an exquisite golden tone, warm seasoned flavours and a smooth, confident agave flavour that really shines through.
